OpenCon 2017 Mbarara is about creating a way for openness in scientific research as well as celebrating Open Data Day 2017 with the rest of the world.

There will be presentations from open project leaders, speeches and hacking sessions aimed to come up with a strategy. We will be creating a network map for Open innovations in science with a focus in global health. Researcher and innovators need a more clear map and motivation to innovate through Open: our goal is to clearly map the opportunities, tools, methodologies and rewards for open innovators with open policies.
