It’s a platform for the next generation to learn about Open Access, Open Education, and Open Data, develop critical skills, and catalyze action toward a more open system for sharing the world’s information—from scholarly and scientific research, to educational materials, to digital research data.

Education and research trends are moving too quickly. Join this cutting edge conversation at OpenCon 2016 Lagos, where there will be discussion on the future of Open system in education, access and research data. From listening to keynotes from various proficient and highly informed speakers to having discussions and deliberation on our responsibility in ensuring a forward movement, it promises to be highly informative and educative. Through a program of keynotes, panels, discussion, a maximum of 400 participants (consisting of students, researchers and early career professionals) will build skills and knowledge in key areas—from raising institutional awareness to coordinating national campaigns on Open Research and Education. It is also another opportunity to join the OpenCon community and invite friends as well.

OpenCon 2016 Lagos is hosted in conjunction with the University of Lagos Engineering Society (ULES).
