Details
Visibility of preprints as a method of scholarly communication has been growing in recent years. The need for fast communication during the initial phases of the COVID pandemic demonstrated how preprints are an important way to share research results, without the delays of the traditional publishing process.
On May 14th at 12pm ET / 9am PT, Amy Riegelman, Social Sciences and Evidence Synthesis Librarian at University of Minnesota, will discuss the various ways in which the term preprint is used, their history and use in different disciplines, and sources for finding preprints. She will describe benefits and common criticisms of preprints including scrutiny of the lack of peer review and acknowledgement that peer review is not infallible.
OpenCon Librarian Community Calls are limited to those working in libraries, and registration is now required. You can register for the May call here.
