  4. March 2020 Librarian Community Call

Will you come?

Details

Terms such as scholarly communication, research support and open research are currently inescapable. They come up in job adverts, the professional press, and at almost every conference yet it can prove hard to engage colleagues in areas that they see as ‘someone else’s problem’. Anyone working in academia needs to have the capability to operate in a world where the research landscape is constantly changing but it can be difficult to get that initial engagement. This session will look at different ways in which you can engage colleagues at all levels with the world of scholarly communication whatever their role. It will take a closer look at the research lifecycle and the different ways in which you can help staff to build their own interest and knowledge at every stage. Who knows – they may even find it fun!

We’ll also discuss the recent Office of Science and Technology Policy Request for Information.

This call brings together all librarians working with, or learning about, all things Open--and gives folks an opportunity to connect with each other to better their work and librarianship.
