Working to advance Open day to day can be tough, and we don’t take enough time to sing our (and others) praises and acknowledge all we’ve done. On the community call this month, we wanted to give time and space for just that because without it, it’s easy too get burned out and frustrated. Open Education Week, and Open Data Day will have just passed, and we’ll take the time to check in with folks since the OpenCon Do-a-thon. However, we’ll also try and take a moment to stay critical and consider who our efforts aren’t reaching, what and who we’re not valuing, and how we could be doing better. Expect to leave the call energized about all that’s happening and ready to dive back into the work.
Call Agenda
You can find all the agendas and minutes from community calls in one place, right here.
Calls are always better with your contributions! Here are some questions to get you thinking before the call. These questions are for Open Data Day & Open Education Week, and the general activity happening year round:
- What have you been up to that you can share with the call? Big or small, successful or not, it all matters
- What have you seen others doing that was cool, and would like to highlight?
- What would you like to have seen more of / less of across?
- Who didn’t you see during the celebrations? Are there folks being left out of these efforts we can work to engage?

What to expect
Community calls are always friendly, and we love new faces. We’ve got some tips for first-timers, but in short, the more you participate, the more you'll get out of it!
