  4. February 2024 Librarian Community Call

Details

Over the next year, SPARC will be working to bring increased attention to the risks posed by emerging research platforms—suites of products and services offered by a single vendor across the research lifecycle. On February 13th at 12pm ET / 9am PT, we’ll be joined by Nick Shockey who is developing this area of work within SPARC. Nick will provide an overview of these concerns and discuss their many intersections across SPARC’s other work, from privacy to negotiations to policy advocacy.

Registration is now required for OpenCon Librarian Community Calls. You can register for the February call here, and as a reminder, OpenCon Librarian Community Calls are limited to those working in libraries.

Agenda and Notes

You can find all the proposed agendas and notes from the Librarian community calls in one place, right here.

Recordings

Community Calls are not recorded to support a safer environment for open and honest discussion. However, notes are taken.

What to expect

Community calls are always friendly, and we love new faces. The more you participate, the more you'll get out of it! No doubt there will be a lot of this too.
