SeeSD

Posted by Lorraine Chuen 1110.20SC on February 21, 2017

At SeeSD, our mission is to promote STEM education in Senegal through Open Educational Resources and hands-on workshops. To this extent, we offer regular STEM hands-on workshops and training opportunities focusing on K-20 students. The first phase of our project is focused on K-12 students; we have offered workshops related to biology, physics, chemistry, environment, design, 3D printing, coding, and electronics. We believe that creating a MOOC platform, with workshops available in local languages will give us the opportunity to expand our audience and foster more learning opportunities for our members and teachers in Senegal.

What kinds of help are we looking for?

SeeSD initiative is based on exchange and collaboration. We are always looking for people who share our passion and who can help us fundraise, create blog posts and newsletter and also manage our social medias. We are also looking for web developers; designers, programmers and content developers who can help us build and manage an interactive MOOC platform, where learners’ progress can be assessed. A content developer can be anyone proficient in English, or French or in some of Senegal’s national languages. The content we are seeking can be easily used to create a hands-on workshop and help people gain more practical skills. For example, we are planning to do workshops related to 3D printing, learning a programming language (scratch, HTML5, C), doing a CRISPR workshop, learning electronics, how to build a website, etc.

Can you be based remotely to help? Yes! Can collaborate from anywhere in the world.

Who do I get in touch with if I want to help out?  If you have questions or are interested in helping out, you can contact Khadidiatou SALL at info(at)SeeSD.org
