Reading some of the most interesting articles and blog posts on open issues is even more interesting when you can talk about them afterward with friends! Reading groups (sometimes also known as journal clubs) can take many forms, but readings are usually assigned a week or two before meeting, and the group comes together to discuss the article or book. If you are hosting a recurring reading group, people can take turns “leading” the meetings: presenting the main points of the paper, and then facilitating discussion afterward.
There are many interesting reading materials on the internet, but if you need a few articles to get started, we have some introductory recommendations here.
