Open Access Tracking Project (OATP)

Posted by Lorraine Chuen 1110.20SC on May 02, 2017

OATP uses social tagging to capture new developments on open access to research. The OATP mission is (1) to provide a real-time alert service for OA-related news and comment, and (2) to organize knowledge of the field by tag or subtopic. The project publishes a comprehensive primary feed of new OA developments, and hundreds of smaller secondary feeds on OA subtopics, one for each project tag.

The Open Access Tracking Project (OATP) is a project of the Harvard Open Access Project (HOAP) at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, operating under the supervision of Peter Suber.

What kinds of help are we looking for?

As a crowd based project documenting the development of open access in realtime, the Open Access Tracking Project (OATP) is looking for contributors to find and tag new information within this scope. Contributors may focus on tagging information related to OA more generally, or related subtopics.

Here's some more information on getting started as a tagger: https://cyber.harvard.edu/hoap/Get_started_as_a_tagger

Can you be based remotely to help? Yes! Can collaborate from anywhere in the world.

Who do I get in touch with if I want to help out?  If you have questions or are interested in helping out, you can contact L. Kelly Fitzpatrick at [email protected]
