This project focuses on Open Archives and Arts. In Europe, there is Europeana.eu, an internet portal that acts as an interface to millions of books, paintings, films, museum objects and archival records that have been digitised throughout Europe. However, there is no such thing in Asia, and it is necessary for us to have one in Asia, as it gives access to different types of content from different types of heritage/arts institutions. The project will explore the possibility of having arts database in Asia and the importance of having one in Asia, by taking Europeana.eu as the example.
What kinds of help are we looking for?
Since we are still at the very beginning of idea, I need many people to help me out with the whole project. Most recently, I've been planning to build up a website and make a video to introduce this programme, which I can use to approach the potential organizations for cooperation. Depending on the development of the whole project, I believe that I need people with different expertise in longterm, including:
- Advocacy and Policy
- Blogging
- Communications / Media Relations
- Community / Grassroots Organizing
- Social Media Campaigns
- Fundraising
- Graphic Design
- Video Editing
- Research about Open Access, Open Data, or Open Education
- Software Development
Can you be based remotely to help? Yes! Can collaborate from anywhere in the world.
