A lot of discussion and work has been done to determine how we measure and reward the impact of research publications, but what about software?
We’ve invited Heather Piwowar and Jason Priem, co-founders of ImpactStory, to discuss the role of code and software in research evaluations. During the webcast, Heather and Jason will share their motivation for developing Depsy, a new tool to measure and reward software impact, and how code and software contributions to research can be rewarded.
The webcast will be held on Thursday, April 7, at 11am PDT, 2pm EDT, 7pm BST, 8pm CEST. Join live to ask questions and participate in the discussion online using #opencon on Twitter. If you can’t join us, leave your question in the comments now and watch the webcast later!
If you would like to learn more about Depsy before the webcast, we recommend you read “Let’s value the software that powers science: Introducing Depsy” on the ImpactStoy blog.
